Lori Groinus    Lori Groinus, CST - MN State Assembly President

Lori has been a Surgical Technologist since 1992. She began her career at Fairview Southdale in Edina from 1992-1995, primarily working on the eye team.

She then moved back near her hometown of Kimball and joined the staff at the St. Cloud Hospital where she worked until 2007.

In 2006 she began her current position as faculty instructor and program director for the Surgical Technology program at Rasmussen College in St. Cloud.

Lori also has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education (2004) and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction (2013).

Lori lives near Kimball with her husband, Steve, children: Carter (10) and Madelyn (8), and a crazy collie, Ginger.

Amy graduated from St. Cloud Technical College in September 1987. She worked at Unity Hospital for 11 years, as a Tech and resigned in 1998. She then became a traveling Surgical Tech. She stayed at Chapel Hill, North Carolina working at UNC for a six month period. She then went to get her CFA certification in June of 1999. July of 1999, she started with Specialist In General Surgery LTD, as a CST/CSFA.

Her Surgical Assisting role with Specialist In General Surgery is:

Making sure cases are scheduled correct and the right amount of time.  She makes sure the patient is shaved, position and prepped correctly for the procedure. She coordinates with the hospitals service leaders if the Dr.’s need special equipment. She is the liaison for the doctors when Representatives for companies have new Equipment/Mesh/Staplers that are needed.

She also is a preceptor/Educator for new PA's in the group and also at the Hospital's where we have Med, Residents, PA, RN and Tech students.

She is a Single mom and has a daughter, Erin. Erin is a 11th grader at Blaine High School. Her passion is Volleyball.

In October 2018, Amy was elected for a one year term position as Vice President on the Minnesota State Assembly.


Lori Molus    Lori Molus, CST, FAST - MN State Assembly Treasurer

Lori has worked in the medical field for 34+ years. She has worked as a CST for more than 29 years. In 1985, she graduated from St. Cloud Technical College, St. Cloud, MN.

Lori was in the scrub role for 27 years for Allina Health’s Unity, Mercy and Abbott Northwestern Hospitals. She had also, held a position  in the Operating Room at Unity/Mercy Hospitals as a Supply Coordinator. She was an educator for the St. Cloud, Rasmussen College as an adjunct instructor for the Surgical Technology Program in 2014. In February of 2017, Lori started a new position as Supply and Equipment Manager for the Ambulatory Surgery Center at the University of Minnesota Physicians in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In her leadership role she works closely with all areas of the operating room suite including but not limited to the Surgeons, Staff, Supply Chain, Clinics and Vendors. She also continues to serve in the scrub role for the UMP surgery center on an as needed basis.  

She  married Gregory James Molus in September of 1987. They have three children. Matthew Gregory is 26 years old living in Scottsdale, Arizona. He serves in the Air Force Guard and works for a Communications Company in Scottsdale. Luke James is 25 years old and is a Mechanical Engineer for Excel Energy in Stillwater, Minnesota. Andrea Marie is 21 years old currently a junior attending College of Saint Benedict College/Saint John’s University in St Joseph, Minnesota. She will be graduating in the fall of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Phycology. She plans to go on and apply for graduate school.

Lori has served on the Becker School Board as treasurer since 2012. She is serving in her second 4 year term  on the Becker School Board. She has served as a board member for MCI (MHCSMA) and is on the planning committee for the annual fall Upper Midwest fall conference held in early October each year. This will be her 8th season of collaborating on the planning committee. She has also served as a board member for Becker High School hockey boosters and Becker High School swimming boosters.

In September 2013, Lori was elected for a two year term position as Board of Director on the Minnesota State Assembly.  She is currently serving as the Minnesota State Assembly as Treasurer. She was elected treasurer in the fall of September, 2015 for a two year term and is now serving a second two year term as the treasurer ending in Fall of 2019. In 2018, she was recognized and awarded the FAST designation by the National Association of Surgical Technologists at the Annual National Conference.

Naydeen graduated in 1987 from the Surgical Technologists Program at Anoka-Hennepin Technical College.

Her profession as a CST began with my employment at Abbott Northwestern Hospital (ANW) doing General, Colon, Peripheral Vascular, Urology, Gyn, ENT, Thoracic, Open Hearts and some orthopedics.  In 1993, she went to work as a CST/CFA for Surgical Consultants, P.A., affiliated with Fairview Southdale in Edina.  She assisted with General, Colon, Peripheral Vascular and thoracic surgeries.

In 1998, Naydeen returned to ANW Hospital to specialize in Open Heart surgeries.  In April of 2005, she was a part of the opening of the new ANW Heart Hospital, where she worked doing Heart Bypass, Repair & Replacement of Heart Valves, Heart Transplants, Thoracic and Peripheral/Endo Vascular surgeries.

Currently Naydeen works for Summit Orthopedics out of Woodbury, MN.  She works in the clinic and as first assistant in surgery for an Orthopedic Surgeon.  

Naydeen has been an active member on the local, regional, and National level since 1993.  She has served as past President, Vice President and Board Member of Chapter 20; was the Region 5 Representative/Treasurer; previously served as Board of Director for 2 consecutive terms from 9-2004~9-2008 for the MN State Assembly and has attended some National Conferences as a Delegate since 1993.

In her 32 years of being a Surgical Technologist, she strongly believes in continuing Education, increasing ones knowledge in the latest medical technologies and procedures not only makes one a valued employee but gives one the skills to better care for the patient; it shows pride in your profession.

Naydeen challenges you to get involved in the MN State Assembly whether it is as an officer, Board of director, a Delegate, on a committee or helping plan the Fall and Spring meetings.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email her.

Michelle Stark     Michelle Stark, CST - MN State Assembly Director

Michelle graduated from Lake Superior College in 2014.

She is a CST at Lakewalk Surgery Center in Duluth, MN.

This is her first tech job since graduating where she mainly scubs plastics and orthopedics.

She enjoys living in Duluth with her fiancé, dog and cat. Not being far from where she grew up in Superior, WI she stays in contact with her family and they are together often.
